End of Exams, an End of an Era

So on Friday, I finished my exams!

Seeing as I can't express my excitement through words, here's a picture of my face to show how I'm feeling right now..

 I only had three altogether; a History retake, History and English, compared to some of my friends who have about 9, but still it was a major stress and I'm so glad it's over! As I've finished early, basically everybody I talk to goes 'how's revision going?' and my reply is always 'I'M FREE', It's such a good feeling! Anyways, because I'm free this means that I've finally finished with the school I've been going to for the past seven years of my life, and it's still not sunk in yet.

Finishing exams means I want to turn over a new leaf, starting afresh! I've already begun this process by deep cleaning my room, filming a youtube video and now, to start blogging again! Seriously I'm going to do it!

Black Shoes Wishlist

A Rainy Day

Although my mum warned me in the morning that it was going to rain, I didn't listen and was clever enough to wear bare legs (with some 'wash off' leg tan) and a skimpy top! Let's just say it didn't end well (patchy legs). Mums know best.

I'm wearing this black cami with lace detailing, with a white a-line skirt, both from Topshop. Over that I threw on a Primark hoodie. The contrast between the smart top and skirt with the relaxed hoodie is a perfect combination for school.

First Day Back to School

It was my first day back at school today, so I thought I'd show you my week in outfits considering the first week is really the only week of my school year that I make a proper effort to look nice (before the stress starts), then after that I just end up looking a mess and wearing jeans and a jumper.

 I wore a plain white crop top from Brandy Melville, with a statement, woolly, tartan print skirt, which I absolutely can't express my love for! I got it yesterday from Topshop and it was just what I was looking for. I really like the idea of wearing a really simple item of clothing with something statement, that's what most of my outfits consist of.

The earrings I'm wearing are from a brand called Orelia in Topshop, which I love as their jewellery is dainty and cute!

I wore some new converse that I bought (well, my mum bought) cause I basically wear converse everyday (including weekends) and so needed some new ones, they're just sooo comfortable! I really like this pair as they're a bit different cause of their suedey material! I was so upset when I got some chewing gum on them today, it was a very emotional time for me lol.

Christian Dior's House

On my family camping holiday in Normandy, France, I randomly went into a little room on the campsite filled with leaflets of touristy places to visit and I spotted one with DIOR splashed across the front, so naturally I was drawn to it. At first I thought it was just a perfume advert but then realised it was for an exhibition in the house that Christian Dior grew up in, in Granville, so I was crazy excited.

The exhibition was 'an invitation to discover a unique set of images and sensations that explore the mutual sensibilities between Haute Couture and the Impressionist movement'. Throughout the whole exhibition, including the garden, there were constant links being made between Dior's work, nature and the Impressionist art movement. 

The house was unbelievably cute; a pink doll's house, and the setting absolutely beautiful. 

The book 'Dior Impressions' I bought in the exhibition shared Dior's love of gardens and his fascination of nature. It was evident that Dior had a lot of input in the design and landscaping of the Villa Les Rhumbs gardens. Both his clothing designs and his garden adopt clean cuts, flowers and curved silhouettes. 

"The following spring, the Tulipe line appeared, marked by the development of the bust and the narrowing of the hips. Little by little, the waist was being freed. Colours were inspired by the pictures of the Impressionists and evoked the fields of flowers dear to Renoir and Van Gogh." Christian Dior

Throughout the garden there were information boards displaying a perfume, and comparing it with the scent of a particular flower and an Impressionist painting. However it was all in French and I had no clue what it said, so that was fun. 

Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures in the exhibition, but all I'm going to say is, without trying to sound cheesy, some of the dresses took my breath away. After going round the absolutely amazing exhibition, I had to get me some Christian Dior merchandise lol.

I bought this Dior Impressions book that includes all the beautiful dresses from the exhibition and compares each of the dresses to an Impressionist painting. Eg the following..

I bought a few postcards of some of my favourite dresses, mainly to use for my Art A Level.

If you happened to find yourself in Normandy, I really recommend you to go and visit, even if you're not into fashion (my Dad even loved it), it was the best experience and the highlight of my holiday.

OPI Nail Envy

My nails had started becoming really brittle recently and when I got them to the length that I wanted them to be I just couldn't maintain them and they just broke off to my annoyance. I came across OPI Nail Envy after hearing about it from a The Persian Babe's favourites video a year ago. So I had to get my hands on it (excuse the pun).  

After one use my finger nails became hard rather than bendy; and after three uses my nails started to become long but strong! And when I didn't use it I definitely noticed a difference. If your nails are weak or you just want to grow your nails fast, seriously, buy it, it's amazing. And just a heads up, at Boots it's around £18 and from Amazon you can buy it from £6!

Wow, I haven't posted here for a long time! Now I can relax after getting my AS level results, I'm finally going to start blogging again and I'm excited about it; and what better way to get my feet back on the ground than starting with an easy wishlist!
