Zara Fulfilling My Gingham Dreams

I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with gingham. Growing up I've always been attracted to the print but could never find pieces that were right for me. They'd either not be the right style or they'd make me look like a five-year-old. In the past year, however, gingham is everywhere- in all colours and styles. I loved the trend at first, but then got bored of seeing everyone and their dog wearing it. 

As the trend has slowly been dying down my love for gingham has started to grow back. Recently, Zara has just been hitting the nail on the head for creating unique gingham designs that aren't your average off the shoulder gingham top. I picked up these three gingham pieces about a week ago and have fallen in love. 

  

Rock 'n' Roll Neck

So yesterday was 4th of July i.e. American Independance Day, and I went to an American themed birthday party (despite the fact that neither I nor the guy having the party is American). I thought I'd go as Minnie Mouse since Disney is American and all. I wore this black crop top with buttons down the middle from New Look and paired it with a baby pink PVC mini skirt. I wore my Mum's black heeled shoes, which I have no idea where they're from. Of course I'm wearing Pink Minnie Mouse ears from the Disney Store.

Lazy Life

Today is a relaxed day; which consists of staying in all day watching Netflix and Youtube. I'm lounging around in this white American Apparel Crop top with these Arabian Inspired trousers from Primark (excuse my purple feet lol).

I'm wearing my hair in a high side pony tail. I used Hello Flawless foundation and Nar's Laguna Bronzer on my skin. On my lids I have on MAC's Let's Skate paint pot with Wedge Eyeshadow in the crease. I used Maybelline's gel eyeliner and once again, I'm wearing Miss Manga Mascara. (The reason I'm wearing such heavy makeup is because I have just filmed my June Favourites for my Youtube Channel, video coming soon)

Plain Simple

I wore a pair of Topshop Joni jeans with a cream long back top from Weekday. It's quite sheer, so you can see my lace triangle bra. On my feet, I wore my white Topshop Birkenstocks. I put my hair in a messy low bun and wore my new evil eye jewellery that I got in Turkey. And I was ready to roll.

Prom Look

Last night I went to prom, celebrating leaving school forever! I decided to go in a nude playsuit as I thought this would be a nice change from the traditional prom outfit of a maxi dress. I also decided to wear sandals instead of heels because to be honest I find it difficult to enjoy myself as most of my heels are ridiculously uncomfortable, and I'm glad I didn't wear them apart from the fact most of my friends were towering over me!

For jewellery I wore a simple silver band around my neck which I stole from my mum and some earrings I bought on my recent trip to Turkey (blogpost coming soon).

On my face I wore Bourjois's Healthy Mix Serum and my Make Up For Ever Concealar Palette, along with Nars Laguna bronzer on my cheeks and temples. I then filled my eyebrows in with MAC's Wedge eyeshadow and then used the Beguile brow set mascara, again from MAC. On my eyes, I wore MAC's Painterly paint point and Vanilla eyeshadow, with Quarry in the crease and under my bottom lash line. I then lined my eyes with a Rimmel eyeliner and coated my lashes with Loreal Miss Manga Mascara. Finally, for the lips I went with MAC's whirl lip liner with MAC's lipstick in Honey Love!

Black Shoes Wishlist

As you can see I have quite an obsession with black shoes! They're just so easy to wear with any outfit. Here is an ensemble of some that I have recently been wanting; a combination of boots, flats and sandals.
